Jebat Legacy, CEO & Founder of Jebat.Net Photography has been a member of street-photography.co for a couple of years now. He is an incredible street photographer as well as a remarkable story teller through documentary photography. Jebat’s mission is “Friendship In Photography”.

sp.co: Jebat, tell us about your philosophy of photography. What does it mean to you?

Jebat: Photography is one of the medium can be use to find ourself inside it, in photography you can't presenting other people.The important part is presenting inside your heart to the society.

sp.co: Do you have any projects you are working on?

Jebat: Yes, I am doing Street Photography Series for Gaya Street, Kota Kinabalu and also doing a Documentary and Photo Essay for Old Barber Shop almost 30 years in Gaya Street, Kota Kinabalu.

sp.co: What is your best tip for beginning street photographers?

Jebat: Go to street and shoot, don’t forget to master you basic skill in photography.

sp.co: Anything else you want to say about your work?

Jebat: I do Documentary Photography, Street Photography and Photojurnalism work. I will be presenting in SABAH, MALAYSIA with the Street Photography Series and Photo Essay because I feel the best person to tell the world about your own place are the people that live in that place, and I choose to capture and share it with the world. The photo series below documents a life event of a young boy.

The young boy name Qhairan inside the car with his brother. Photo essay show the feeling for the first time for his dorsal slit. A dorsal slit is a single incision along the upper length of the foreskin from the tip to the corona, exposing the glans without removing any tissue. This is an ancient practice, and has been a traditional custom among peoples, particularly Filipinos and Pacific Islanders, probably for thousands of years.

Qhairan is ready for the dorsal slit even after several times the family had to cancel it because Qhairan was not ready for it.

At the clinic near to Kebun Jeruk, Jakarta Indonesia — and Qhairan is watching another boy as they do his dorsal slit.
